Why should HR managers in Finland keep an eye out for the new generation of Asian students?
THEY CONTRIBUTE TO THE ECONOMY
______________________________________
Asian students who came to Finland for their Masters degree and/or PhD have gone onto becoming valuable contributors to the Finnish economy.
THEY DON’T BECOME A BURDEN TO KELA

How can hashtag#Finland help hashtag#Asian youth power the new AI economy?
During our work in Finland, Aisha and I have seen first-hand how AI is transforming industries and we’re excited to help schools in Asia hashtag#contextualize an AI curriculum for their needs in the following fields:
AI in AGRICULTURE:
___________________
Imagine using a simple mobile device to detect crop diseases early to protect millions of livelihoods.
AI in HEALTHCARE:
___________________
AI-powered tools on a mobile device make healthcare more accessible, even in rural areas, and improve outcomes across the board.
AI in FOOD PRODUCTION:
_________________________
Robotics and AI are optimizing food processing, helping to create sustainable systems that meet the needs of growing populations.
AI in BUSINESS & TRADE:
AI enabling small businesses to compete globally through automation and data-driven insights.
We are glad to be working with our partners Servicio Filipino, Inc. and Luis Alberto Anastacio II and Andres Suarez and help schools in Asia move into the AI economy.
We were in Paris to meet the dynamic Fajer Rabia who was delivering at talk at UNESCO on advancing girls’ education.
People like Fajer are worth supporting.
How do you feel when you realize that a company collected your data and sold it off?
WHAT IS SURVEILLANCE CAPITALISM?

When companies like OpenAI are raising money at crazy valuations in the hundreds-of-billions, but can only generate a couple of billion in revenue, then there is a serious valuation problem…
And the easiest way out of this Earning Per Share problem is for OpenAI to sell the data that they collect on you…

BACKGROUND: HOW OUR GIRLS STARTED
___________________________________________
Aisha and I asked Lincoln Method to create a customized program to teach our girls from hashtag#Finland 🇫🇮 how to think like leaders.
READ WHAT LEADERS READ
_____________________________
So a program was created where both girls have class assignments to understand the vocabulary that leaders use. So we started by getting the girls to read published by McKinsey & Company , Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and other leading firms.
SPEAK & PRESENT LIKE LEADERS

Once the girls built their vocabulary, the next step was to start creating video reports on whatever they read.
It just so happened that the things that interest them the most are hashtag#AI and hashtag#Quantum computing

SUGGESTED ROADMAP OF AI ADOPTION IN SCHOOLS
_____________________________________________
The hottest topic in hashtag#Davos was AI, and it was evident schools who are serious about moving the conversation forward need a roadmap that illustrates how they can adopt AI.
Our 🇫🇮 hashtag#Finnish EdTech Lincoln Method has come up with a suggested roadmap for schools:
1. NOMINATE someone from the school who will be the lead person for AI adoption
2. ENGAGE with an external AI advisor who understands the Education landscape
3. CONDUCT a pilot project to get the interest level of the staff and the students
4. FACILITATE an open discussion internally on how to start implementing AI tools within the curriculum
HOW SOON SHOULD SCHOOLS GET STARTED

The world will soon be divided into two camps, those who know how to use AI tools, and those who don’t.
can you guess who will be the more dominant of the two.

#Dads who bring their hashtag#daughters to hashtag#Davos to attend the World Economic Forum
The women of hashtag#Ukraine are reimagining their careers during a time that requires courage, leadership and innovation. Anna Believantseva’s groundbreaking Esper Hand, a prosthesis developed by human augmentation start-up Esper Bionics was included in TIME magazine’s list of the Best Inventions of 2022. This kind of incredible hashtag#innovation powers Ukraine’s resilience.
As I was asking Anna to demonstrate how her bionic hand works, two young girls approached us and asked her if we knew of Esper Bionics. Anna responded, “I am the Co-Founder of Esper Bionics”. They shared that they had just written a vlog about Esper Bionics that was about to be published.

When girls see hashtag#represention in hashtag#STEM it creates an extraordinary ripple effect, unleashing a positive impact that resonates across future generations and entire communities.Moments matter. Setting your intention matters. hashtag#Womensupportingwomen matters.
This all happens in the hashtag#EqualityLounge and it fills me with incredible pride for our amazing community and the space we’ve created where these kind of lasting connections can be made.

The AI- economy confrence
The AI-economy is here to stay, but why are schools banning ChatGPT?

Forward-looking parents can use Lincoln Method to start training their kids on how to become the leaders of new AI-economy
One Year in Helsinki: A Unique Journey of Growth and Integration
In Helsinki, Aisha Saleem and I reflect on a year rich in growth and community. Irene Hernberg from Kaimana Agency explored with us the distinctive charm of Helsinki for expats. Helsinki’s rhythm is set by a constant stream of corporate events, fostering connections and collaborations.
For families, Helsinki offers a perfect blend of modern amenities and a welcoming atmosphere. The sauna culture, a daily ritual, symbolizes the warmth and openness of the city. The thriving music scene is the melodic backdrop to our Helsinki journey, making this city more than a location. It’s a harmonious blend of diverse rhythms, welcoming those who call it home.

AI-Economy: The Lincoln Method for Forward-Thinking Parents
The AI-economy is undeniably shaping the future, yet a puzzling trend has emerged, schools banning ChatGPT. In a recent talk at the Nordic Investment Bank, I addressed forward-thinking parents keen on ensuring their kids are prepared for the AI revolution.
Rather than battling the education system to overhaul its curriculum, I introduced the Lincoln Method as a proactive approach. This method empowers parents to take the reins in training their children to become leaders in the burgeoning AI-economy.
A special thanks to Steinar Hoel Korsmo of Seed Forum Global, and to Eero Nikula, Jukka Hakola, and Harri Hoivala of Helsinki Partners for providing Aisha Saleem and me with the opportunity to share our insights with such a distinguished audience. The AI-economy is here to stay, and with the Lincoln Method, forward-thinking parents can ensure their children don’t just adapt but thrive in this transformative era.
Why am I advocating “human & machine symbiosis” at the World Economic Forum?
WHAT IS SYMBIOSIS?
______________________
This is the point where you allow the machine to learn so much about your personality, that the machine is able to read your needs and contextualize the work according to how you want it done.
THE FUTURE BELONGS TO SYMBIOSIS
_______________________________________
#SAP‘s Chief Futurist Martin Wezowski understands that the most productive people will be those who can outsource their mundane tasks to a human-centric technology, so that they can focus on the strategic aspect of work.
This is what we are trying to do with Lincoln Method
WOULD YOU OPT-IN TO SYMBIOSIS?
____________________________________
If the machine could do all your routine tasks, would you let the machine study your personality (which will help the machine contextualize how you like your work done)?

Kids Dive into Quantum World: A Quantum Leap in Learning
Finland’s €250+ million investment in quantum computing has spurred forward-looking parents like Aisha & I to enroll our daughters, Alena (13) and Sophie (8), in a Lincoln Method hobby club teaching quantum computing.
In a world dominated by the AI economy, this journey underscores the importance of collaboration. Seeking help isn’t a sign of weakness but a collective effort to prepare the next generation for a future powered by quantum computing.
What does it take to make a husband-wife team work?
Aisha Saleem and I are co-founders in a hashtag#Finnish 🇫🇮 EdTech Lincoln Method (our 3rd venture together)…
We always get asked about what it is like to be working together…
Here are a few things that we follow in order to make things work out:
1. CREATE A CONFLICT ARENA
We have very heated discussions (to the point where it could seem like we are fighting) however we are actually sparring, and deliberately creating a conflict arena. This gives us an opportunity to look at all possible angles and potential risks.
2. COMPLETE AUTONOMY
Both of us have 2 completely different skill-sets, therefore we give each other complete autonomy to roll-out our individual strategies. We do not interfere unless one of us asks for advice.
3. SHARED VALUE SYSTEM OF “GIVING”
Both of us believe in “giving” to others so that we can “receive” more from the universe. Our way of “giving” is by hosting people for dinner at our place. We believe that if our table is always laid out with delicious meals for others, then the universe will never let us go hungry.

The Helsinki Effect: Drawing Entrepreneurs Back into the Game
Two serial entrepreneurs, Aisha and Saleem Qureshi, reignited their passion for tech-education and seized the opportunity to leverage Helsinki as a springboard for their innovative neurology-based teaching method. This endeavour led them to postpone their early retirement and embark on a new venture in Finland’s capital. Their journey was facilitated by Business Helsinki’s startup soft landing services, which helped them navigate the Finnish entrepreneurial environment.
Originally from Pakistan,
Aisha Qureshi and Saleem Qureshi have always held a profound belief in the Finnish education system and its global reputation. This belief inspired them to launch one more venture, and Helsinki, which is known for its exceptional educational system, was the perfect choice for them.
This realisation gave birth to the Lincoln Method opens in new tabopens in new tab, a company founded swiftly and with a clear vision. “The name and logo were created in just ten minutes of brainstorming”, recalls Aisha with a chuckle.
The Lincoln Method is a process that Saleem designed, and it focuses on how the brain learns. Saleem wants to use this methodology to help children learn new and complex things.
The Qureshis delved into the science of learning, and studied how a child’s brain consumes content. “Through this, we can visualise the learning patterns of each student. We can also identify where a child might be confused, this way the teacher can address any confusion immediately”, Saleem elaborates.
Finland, having a highly esteemed education system, emerged as an ideal location for this revolutionary method. The desired outcome is to bring the educational system and industry closer, preparing students for future business landscapes.
Startup Soft Landing Services Help Navigating the Finnish Business Ecosystem
Business Helsinki’s startup soft landing services opens in new tabopens in new tabplayed a crucial role in easing the Qureshi couple’s journey, guiding them through the intricacies of assimilating into the Finnish business ecosystem. Saleem highlights the efficiency of the fast-track services, which enabled him to obtain a working permit within a day.
Through comprehensive support, startup soft landing services streamline the establishment and rapid growth of businesses in Finland’s vibrant capital region. The expert team provides essential market insights, mentorship, networking opportunities, and detailed information about the dynamic local ecosystem, which includes office spaces, co-working areas, funding support, and assistance with startup permits, which are residence permits for startup entrepreneurs.
‘’International startups get a good understanding of the business opportunities available in Finland, funding options, market understanding and access to expertise”, explains Startup Soft Landing Lead, Teemu Seppälä. “The potential startups find us through our web page, international events and International House Helsinki’s website and most importantly, through peer-to-peer endorsements done by startups who have already successfully located here.’’
The services guide entrepreneurs interested in exploring opportunities in Finland, offering comprehensive assistance with paperwork and close collaboration with various authorities and the International House Helsinki (IHH).
‘’While IHH hosts all the needed authority services for newcomers under the same roof, we here at startup soft landing team provide business development services for international growth companies’’, Seppälä explains.
Seppälä describes the Finnish startup scene as a relatively young, about 15-year-old community, characterised by its freshness and dynamism.
Presently, the Helsinki Region boasts approximately 200 Venture Capital and investment funds, over 3000 startup companies, and more than 70 startup platforms, including accelerators, incubators, co-working spaces, and piloting platforms. The Slush event has significantly raised awareness of growth entrepreneurship.
Seppälä outlines numerous advantages for startups considering establishment in Finland. “Finland presents a unique blend of both ‘soft’ and ‘hard’ factors for business location. The country offers diverse funding opportunities, including a robust network of angel investors, VCs, and public funding.”
“Additionally, Finland is renowned for its high quality of life, having been named the happiest country in the world six times consecutively”, Seppälä sums up. “Our world-class education and healthcare systems are accessible to all, and the emphasis on work-life balance is highly valued and promoted.”
Why Choose Helsinki for Entrepreneurship?
For the Qureshi couple, choosing Helsinki was almost a happy accident. They discovered the Helsinki Education Hub and its programme that aligned perfectly with their business strategy. “We were captivated by Helsinki’s offerings, especially its supportive environment for focused entrepreneurs”, says Saleem.
Aisha and Saleem Qureshi’s goal is to promote globally a Finnish brand for after-school education. “We engage directly with industries to tailor our educational content, starting with our own daughters as our initial learners,” Saleem points out. Their innovative approach has already garnered attention, for example from the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT).
Saleem sees immense potential in integrating cyber security education early on. “By collaborating with cyber security firms for educational modules, we can empower young learners in this critical field,” he suggests.
So, why choose Helsinki for entrepreneurship? The city is not only trustworthy and innovative but also welcoming to new ideas and people, making it an ideal hub for entrepreneurs.
Aisha adds that Helsinki is exceptionally family-friendly, enhancing its appeal for international families. Outside their professional endeavours, the Qureshis enjoy hosting parties, embracing a philosophy of warmth and hospitality in their home.
The couple’s journey underscores a powerful message: in the world of business and innovation, learning is an endless adventure.
